Wordy Wednesday

Today has been a great day so far. The weather was so much nicer this morning which made the 5 mile run a bit more bearable. I cannot tell you what a nice breeze and sub 80 temps do for my attitude!  I also cannot tell you how painful my rear is this morning from my training ride last night. I do think the run this morning did help ease some of the pain, but I think for my ride tomorrow I'm going to strap a pillow to the seat. Ouch! I know it will just take a few more rides but it is amazing how quickly you lose your ability to tolerate the seat. Guess I should train harder and not ride in the saddle as much. Then I would have amazingly strong quads! Another upside of the morning is I enjoyed some tasty oatmeal after my run! Blueberry and Banana Old Fashioned Oats.
This morning I had quite the comical conversation with the kids. They were trying to tell me their memories from when I was pregnant with them.  Ella told me it was a bit crowded and that she needed more room.  Hayden said he kept thinking about how he couldn't wait to get out. When I asked Macy if she had any memories she said, "Nothing".  Funny, seeing how she is the youngest, you would think she would be more likely to have a "memory" than her older siblings.  Ha ha! Apparently she was not playing along with our storytelling.  No imagination, that kid.  She did complain that she thought Ella was mean because she told her she was dramatic. Macy would not stand to be called such a thing. :)
Another comical event was that Hayden decided he wanted to take his baseball helmet over to my parents house, you know, "In case I play baseball Mom, I don't want to get hit in the head." Oh yes, we wouldn't want the plastic ball to do any damage to you! When he goes to the sitter he always asked to bring a toy or some other item and it occurred to me this morning that in a week and a half he will be starting kindergarten.  I also realized at that moment that I was going to have to break the news that you can't take the fun stuff to school.  When I told him he said, "Really?!?! I didn't  know that!". Cracked me up but also opened my eyes that I may not have prepared him as well as I should have for this new adventure he is about to face.  Still gotta a week to get it all in!

On my way to pick up lunch for an office today I stopped by Starbucks to pick up a Cool Lime Refresher. T and I talked about these our entire run this morning and how great it could be if we had one, in hand, at that very second. They really are refreshing and I can't think of another drink that I find to be so great at cooling me off.  I guess our discussion was still on my mind by noon so I had to get one. Sooooooo good!!!!!
Pretty straight forward day with a much improved attitude.  Loving my reminder cards in my office and I know these runs are making all the good endorphins fire off! Hope you all had a great day! Laundry and photo editing is calling my name!!

Q and A:
1.  Have you tried the new Refreshers teas at Starbucks? Which is your favorite?
I still haven't tried the Hibiscus one, is it any good?

2.  What's the funniest kid convo you've had lately?

3.   After a morning workout, what is your favorite breakfast to refuel with?
I love oatmeal, but I've recently found out that I love steel cut oats more than old fashioned. They have more nutrients but take longer to cook. To speed up the process you can set your oats out in water the night before. When you do that, they soften up the outside of the grain and then in the morning, they cook in 5 minutes.  I just forgot to sit mine out to soak so I had to have old fashioned instead. I love mine with a little agave syrup, craisins and almonds or walnuts!!! I love blueberries and bananas as well. Actually, I probably love every version of oatmeal.
