Woowee! Talk about struggling this morning to get out for a run. If it was possible to have the antithesis of what took place on Wednesday's run, today was it. When I pulled out of my neighborhood there were a few rain drops spitting at me. I got myself all excited about the possibility of running in the rain. As usual these past couple of weeks, I stared at the temperature gage trying to will it down to below 80, below 75......uhh, it didn't work. It stalled out around 78 and I shrugged it off. When I got out of my car it hit like a ton of bricks, humidity. You have to understand that where I live is like the desert and we are use to dry, dry weather. The legs were also dragging and I think that my overall runners high was not there. I think cycling yesterday and doing some of my lunge work contributed to the heavy legs, but I also blame lack of sleep. Crossing my fingers for renewed energy for Sunday's long run. I'm already looking forward to it.
| Random, but what if I got bangs like this picture I saw in a magazine today? Look at the pic up top, can you imagine it? |
Moving on, today all 3 kids had well checks. Do not ask me why all 3 at the same time, when I am booking the dreaded appointment, I tell myself, rip it off like a band aid, do all 3 at once, get it over with......then I get to the appointment and regret the moment I said, "Sure, all 3 booked at the same time, that's great!" Utter chaos. At least there were no shots, no tears, just wild and crazy. Both Ella and Hayden are about 50% on their height and weight and Macy is lagging behind a bit in the 30% range. She is just has a little body that holds a BIG personality. I was extremely challenged by that personality today as well. My sanity was questioned.
Tonight we headed out to the Swingin' Tex-Fest that we helped the Ben Richey Boys Ranch put together. It was a night of good, ol' fashioned Texas Swing music and man was that place packed with dancers. The kids had a blast, but Ella was engrossed in a book for part of the time while the rest of the time she could not stop movin' and groovin'. We will head back to the event tomorrow night to watch Mark perform as well as some other very talented musicians. These are some great memories and I know that the kids enjoyed themselves.
I'm going to sign off for now. I've crammed so much into this one post, well, and into this day really. I also got an entire days worth of work done in there at some point. I just was going so fast through it all there wasn't anything super memorable to report. I blame it on the fact that half of this was written this morning and the rest of it at the end of the day. Oh well. Gotta get it all in somehow!!! ;) Whatever you do, don't ask the current condition of my laundry piles, the dust on the floor or groceries in the house. Those are some of those balls that are tossed over and over again in the air and keep falling straight to the ground. I confess, I cannot do it all. Honestly, I'm sorta okay with that right now.
What do you think of the Lance Armstrong saga?
Do you make your kids well visits a special one on one time with Mommy event, or do you like to get it all over with and take all of them at once?
Do you know how to two-step or any other type of dancing?

I think those bangs would look good on you! I just don't like them of they're too thick.
I don't know why he (Lance) gave it up, either. I suspect he's guilty, although I still think he's an amazing athlete, guilty or not. At the same time, from what I've read about him, he does not seem like the kind of athlete you want your kids to look up to anyway. Stick with Tebow... Or LoLo Jones...or Josh Hamilton. There aren't too many, but they are out there.
