Well, whatever you call it....I ran on the treadmill this morning. I haven't done that in over a year. You know what, it wasn't THAT bad. A little lonely, not having my running buddy with me as I trekked the 5 miles, 8K or whatever the machine was trying to tell me I ran. Can I hop back on the soapbox really quick? Thanks. Someone please explain to me, why in the US, do we measure distance in miles, yet when it comes to races or, in this case, a treadmill, measure distance in kilometers? Hello! I spent the whole time doing calculations in my head as I watched myself run around an imaginary island that had its distance listed as kilometers. Thankfully my brain didn't have to work too hard because it did have the miles listed to the side of the screen. I just find it humorous, that's all. Same when I was polevaulting....we measured everything in meters.....again, why?!?! Oh well. I realized while on my run that not having my normal running conversation, gave me the awareness of my stride, my foot strike, etc. I have a zero heel/toe shoe that I run in and I was very aware of how I was running. My calves are pretty tight right now. I was also aware at how hard I land, the girl beside me was hitting so hard it was very loud. It of course became a game to me to see if I could be as quiet as possible. Then I counted down the distance I had left to keep me occupied. Bad news, my brain can't count while running. This also kept me entertained. Ha! I honestly felt trapped in a box, looking out across 121. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention I'm in Plano for a meeting today? Oh yeah, that's why I was running like a hamster. Honestly, I can't complain, I'm glad I had the opportunity to push myself to get up early and get in my run. I know I will have a great attitude for the remainder of the day because of it. Thought you would all find this funny.....
Ha ha! Emergency purposes only. I love this hotel, if you like modern design, this is the place to stay. Super clean, new, smells good... The NYLO is a great choice! By the way, I will do a back to school post once I return home. The past couple of days have been pretty wild, but I would love to share how our first day went! More later!

I don't do the running outside thing. I think I can't pave myself well or push myself. I'm not sure. That and when I have some time to workout, it's usu at the hottest part of the day! We should lose miles, feet and inches, and pounds, and do what the rest of the world does and do things in grams, meters, etc. makes more sense!!!
