Swingin' Tex-Fest
The amount of photos I have from today and yesterday are too copious to download and then upload to blogger. So, you are going to have to settle for some iPhone photos. The event went well, but I am exhausted. I spent the entire event photographing the two-steppers and musicians. Since this event was also kid friendly, I also had 3 little munchkins following me around, asking what I was doing and why couldn't they have more candy from the concession stand. Luckily, my sis-in-law, Jackie, also came today which is always great for built in playmate time. Ella and Luke (only 4 days apart in age) spent the entire day learning how to dance. They wanted to go out on the dance floor so terribly bad, but I told them they were not allowed until they learned how to dance the right way. The Swingin' Tex-Fest was Texas Country Swing Music Festival which has a strong group of followers who are just down right amazing at dancing. I didn't want our kids to trip any of them up with their break dancing. Luke was more interested in watching the guys play, but Ella threatened him enough that he would occasionally oblige and follow her out to the floor. That girl needs to learn how to let the boy lead, she was dragging him all over the place.
Hayden and Macy attended the event sans a nap, which is never a good strategy. This morning I became heavily involved in a massive closet and drawer clean out in the kids rooms and didn't take the time to look at the clock and say time to sleep. Macy caught up on her lost nap time in Mark's mom's lap and Hayden eventually crashed too. Poor kid was straddled between a chair and my lap in this picture.
By 8pm I was crashing. We had been out there since 2 pm and I had been on my feet the entire time snapping pictures. I reloaded with sugar, again, not the best of plans, but gave me a jolt of energy to hold me over for another hour and a half. At that point, I texted my running buddy to make sure we were still on for our morning run. I immediately realized how desperate I was to get in bed so that we could hit the pavement early.
Junior Brown was the last act and Mark came out in the audience and hung out with us. Hayden loves his daddy and I thought they both looked so cute in their embroidered western shirts. Sorry for the picture of a picture.....It is too late to download, this was simply a lazy move. :) By the way, I know it is probably a sappy thing to say on your blog and I guess I could keep it all to myself, but I totally think my husband is a hottie. :) I am so thankful for him!! I can't believe we have been on life's wild ride together for 10 years! 12 years if you count dating! It gets better every day.
How often do you clean out your closet? How about your kid's closet?
What do you eat or drink to get a quick energy boost?
