I didn't realize this morning when I woke to go run on the hampster wheel, see exhibit A, that the weather would turn so crazy later. Within a few hours everything was covered, global warming my foot. Sidenote: does any one else find it funny when you type out sayings, like "my foot", that they don't come out right, or look strange when you reread them. Some stuff I would typically say out loud, just seems different when you actually write it. That probably is a writing faux pas: writing like you talk.
Exhibit A

Back on track.....I would not have left the house today, however Macy had her 6 month well check. Since the doctors office is right next to where the kids go to Mother's Day Out, I decided to drop them off for their Valentine's Party. I practically slid all the way downtown and made myself very nervous with my 3 precious pieces of cargo in the back. We usually pray on our way to school these days, so I can throw in a, "Help Hayden obey his teacher and remind Ella to put others first." I feel like it makes a bigger impact when we are talking to God about good behavior rather than me instructing it. If God's involved they tend to want to obey, if it's me askin' they plug their ears. So, this morning I made sure to spell out in my prayer that we would not slide off the road or be slid in to. Thank you God for keeping us safe!! After Macy's eventful 5 shots, poor baby, we headed back to get the older kids. Before getting them though, I ran by Walmart where I created quite the scene. I almost fell on my rear about 10 times and then can you believe that I then pulled a grocery cart out into an icy, snow filled parking lot? Just for future reference, grocery carts are not meant to be pulled through the snow. Wake up Meredith. After getting Macy loaded up and the cart back to the store, I made sure to attempt one more triple axle before spinning around and ramming my entire body into the side of the car. At least I didn't go to the ground, but I made sure to scope out the entire parking lot to make sure no one saw my skills. I pretty sure my face was as red as a tomato. I lucked out and made my escape without anyone seeing.

The rest of the post is pictures from the day. Oh and one more thing, go check out the cute blog that gave me the Kreative Blogger award! Christephi has a fun blog titled, Sprouting Flowers and was kind enough to pass along a sweet source of encouragement that I can post on the side of my page. You can either click on the Kreative logo or click
here to read her blog! Thanks!

The outfits we put together to go outside. This is what Ella wore to school today with some minor adjustments. Add in rain boots and jeans. Wow. I'm tellin' ya, us Powell's are stylin'. What is this pose?? The Sassy Lady?
Why do kids eat snow?
The trampoline is always 50x's more fun when there is snow on it!!

I am so sorry that I missed all your skills in the Wal-Mart parking lot today. Call me next time, I'll take pictures;-) I am getting quite a laugh just thinking about it only because it sounds like something I would have done only I would have ended up on my bottom instead of feet.
Love all of the pictures! What precious subjects you have to photograph.
You commenting on the trampoline reminded me of a funny story. One Christmas we came to Texas from Tennessee so my BFF was taking care of our dog. It snowed while we were gone so when she came over to take care of the dog she decided to jump on the trampoline. Needless to say since it was frozen she busted the liner and ended up in a puddle of mud on her bottom under the trampoline. She was so scared to tell my parents but we all just laughed. So beware of frozen trampolines;-)
Snow and ice always make grocery shopping an adventure! Glad you're all safe! Love the pictures :)
I'm so jealous of everyone's snow!! Well, not jealous of sliding around on the roads, but jealous of the fun playday!
I love Ella's headband...did you make it? Mallory is way into headbands right now. The boots complete the outfit:)
Girl! The pictures of Ella are SO CUTE! LOVE THEM!! And I am very proud of her for smiling in the snow picture! That a girl! :) And her flower headband is adorable...is that one that you made? If so, SUPER cute! Anyhow, thanks for braving Walmart and dropping off my milk on your way home! That's what friends are for! Woohoo for your friendship! I feel like there's nothing you won't do for me! ;) Ha! But I have to admit, I would have loved to of seen you slippin' and slidin' all over the parking lot! Ha!
Hey, just wanted you to know I found your blog!!!! Yea!!!!
Love all your photography. That is such a fun hobby. It is amazing what some knowledge and a good camera can do!
your children are precious!!
to answer your question about my snow pics.....i believe the clarity of the snow flakes is a combination of the lens I used, the post production, and extra large flurries falling
