Our Big 6 Month Old and little Valentine!
Lots of Valentine projects going on at The Powell household. Ella is obsessed with pink and red and I have been searching out all my favorite blogs to get ideas of things we can do. Last week I made sure to pick up some pink and red tissue paper so that we could decorate cardboard cut out hearts. Found here at Wise Craft. Remembering how to decorate our club homecoming float from my college days came in handy when trying to put these together. Unfortunately I forgot to take an end photo of our hearts. Ella did great wrapping the tissue around the eraser and dipping it in the glue. It took several attempts, but she finally figured it out. Hayden on the other hand hasn't quite developed the hand dexterity needed to do this project. He had several meltdowns during the craft time, but eventually got over it and moved on to playing with his swords.
I've definitely lost my marbles during all this crafting. I had mentioned at the beginning of the week that we could make Valentine sugar cookies with sprinkles and icing. Ella was so excited and asked me everyday when we would get to do it. Finally on Friday I got my act together and we attempted them. Obviously, I was scatter brained because I had the kids decorate the cookies with icing and sprinkles BEFORE putting them in the oven. Needless to say the cookies didn't turn out looking so hot. I have no idea what came over me, but apparently I'm not too good at multitasking.
Wow. Exceptional skills, Meredith, simply exceptional.
Footnote: Sorry about my photo layout. I changed my posting options and I cannot get things to go where I want them to. I've edited this a million times and cannot get it worked out. Hmmmm.

That made me laugh about the cookies. They are still really cute!
Seriously funny about the cookies! otta be careful what you say "we can do" with the kids, eh? :-)
It's my fault you did the cookies backwards...I distracted you on the phone. But I'm still laughing that you decorated them before you baked them...love it!!!
Ella looks SO much like you!!!
Don't remind me about the Homecoming float! Ugh! I love the cookies. They are (were) so pretty. I think it would've been more difficult to decorate raw, but sounds like something I would do! ;) Blogger also drives me crazy with the photo layout. You've probably noticed my blogs are frequently screwed up. Everything is so user-friendly except that...and then when you go to "preview" it looks fine, but when you "post" it looks different. I don't understand the point of preview if it's going to do that, but I end up with one word on each line half of the time!
Ainsley has that same outfit as your baby. I love it!
That cracks me up!! But they are super cute, so you have to get some points for that, I mean come on!? Seriously! You still are the best and are definitely one of the top contestants for the Mother of the Year award! ;)
