Getting in the Groove

I'm trying to stretch myself as I have gotten lazy recently trying to adjust to being the mommy of three. I had stopped doing a lot of things that I enjoyed because the multitasking it takes to get everything done. I'm slowly reintroducing myself back into blogging, sewing, crafting, experimenting (which all of this could fall under), creative cooking and especially photography.
I have mentioned numerous times this week here in blog land that I just got back from a cruise. The girls I met all have an interest in photography and now I'm just biting, or is it chewing or nawing, at the bit, trying to figure it all out. I've already reread my camera manual, taken notes, searched the internet, salivated over 50 mm lenses and scoured the photo editing software looking for ways to improve my ability to take professional looking photographs. I'm going to work on my knowledge and my skills and share them with you. Hopefully over the next several months....(let me be honest with myself).....YEARS we will see an improvement!! It's my goal!
MckMama made a good point when talking to us about our cameras. She said even the best camera can take awful pictures. I think she hit that spot on as I know that I have a nice camera and obviously it is the operators fault in what has been produced! Here's to self education!!!!

In the meantime, these are some unedited photos of a pretty special little girl who is almost 6 months!! I'll be posting about her milestones soon as I had forgotten to post about her turning 5 months. Oh, and the picture half way through this post was one of my quick sewing projects. After going on the cruise, I ended up with camera strap envy. Yes, I want to buy a real one from SheyB, but I decided to try to make my own. I always do this and then end up buying the real thing later, but a girl has to try, right? If you are looking for a cute camera strap cover, make sure to check out SheyB on etsy! She uses a variety of fabrics, prints, textures and ruffles!! What girl doesn't like ruffles??? :)

Hi! I've only ever really known one other Meredith. I can't believe that we live so close and it looks like we have a lot of the same interests (blogging, sewing crafting, cooking AND photography...LOVE photography). It looks like you have an Ella too...Our Ella Grace is 2 and she has a 5 month old little brother Blake. I love Joy's Hope blog and Julie - she is too kind! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! I was thinking about making a camera strap too!! Another blogger I follow was on that cruise & I was drooling over all those fun camera straps. I am thinking about making my own...but I am not that handy with my machine and I don't think it will look as good with it handstitched:-) LOL Thanks so much for your sweet words on my blog and the following. I love meeting new people!
