As usual, we cannot sit still here at The Powell's.....
Hayden and I ventured out with our friends Emily and Wyatt to go see Gator 911!!! Wow. They were supposedly filming this because it is going to be a new show on TLC. I really am sad to say this, but if the show is anything like what we saw, we will not be tuning in. Hayden and Wyatt were both asking to leave about half way through because it didn't grab their attention. The 14 foot long yellow snake, named Banana was pretty cool though. These are definitely not my practice photos, just snapping some while Hayden jumped in and out of my lap.....
Once we got home, Mark and I embarked on a new project. If any of you have been following me long enough, you will remember when we moved into this house in the backyard Mark thought it would be fun to have a "tank" in our backyard. He had great visions of fishing with the kids. You may see that post here. Well, the grand tank only holds water for periods of time. The bottom is clay, but the sides are not so the water seeps out. Great for our yard, but not for the fish. So, now that all of our fish have been eaten by that pesky crane and we had a nice drought for a period of time this past summer we decided to make some adjustments. Mark ordered some recycled billboard signs that they are now using to line tanks for farmers and petroleum companies tanks. We are attempting to do the same thing except we now have a tank full of water. The idea is to use our pump to submerge the lining by pumping the water out of the tank, back to the top of the lining and that way we can control the distribution of the water. Ha! ha! We will see. Enjoy the pictures.....
After.......You would not believe how heavy that liner was. Once we got it stretched out there are multiple billboards sewn together. There was also a movie premier sign, a hot air balloon sign and several versions of the McDonalds sign, spanish and english! It erased my picture, but Mark's dad even crawled out to the center and enjoyed the world's largest water bed. That's how heavy the liner was, it did not even budge an inch when crawled out to the middle. Sure made me nervous though.
Lastly, does anyone know how NOT to create a mess like I did last night. Yep, looks like I will be spending my morning scrubbing this clean. ARGH!

That happened to me once when I opened it too soon. Those things are AWFUL to clean. I wait until it stops steaming to open it. Hope it helps.
That's funny that you saw Gator 911! We live about 20 minutes away from "Gator Country"...and we've seen Banana too! I won't be tuning in either!
