Potty Training??

Crazy, yes I am. I've decided that it is time that Miss Ella begin potty training. I've downloaded a book called "3 Day Potty Training", and I have a feeling that I won't be able to do it. I've done many things in my life that have taken my hard work, determination and perserverance, but I have this awful, nagging feeling that I'm going to fail miserably at this task. A while back I had bought Ella a potty for in our bathroom. When I go in there I always ask her to come along and sit on her potty. She runs back there, dancing on her tip toes, and sits down. She then stands up, puts down the lid and screams, "Yay!!!" Like she actually did something. Nope. However, this got me excited that she was "ready" to be a big girl. So, this morning I pulled out the big girl undies, loaded up the juice cup and decided to stare at Ella until I noticed any urges. I asked her every 15 minutes to go sit on her potty. Well, in the midst of one phone call, Ella decided to wet herself 3 times!!! Once, right when I got on the phone, second right after I called my friend back, and a third after I got off the phone. So, I've decided that I'm not ready, she may be, but I'm going to wait until next week when I can actually plan to potty train instead of just toying around with the idea like I did this morning. I'm not quite sure how to do this while also taking care of a 10 week old, which by the way slept until 7:15 this morning again!!, but I know we will eventually manage it. I just need to be prepared. I'm open to any and all suggestions, so let me know your secrets to potty training!!!I thought I would also post a picture of Ella from her little friend, Paytan's birthday party. I thought Ella looked so cute with her little pigtails and swimsuit on. Also, here is a picture of my dear friend Leslie and me after the party. I think I need to post a picture of her because I talk about her on here all the time. Sarah, hope you like seeing a recent pic of your sis! :) Hey, I hope Landon is doing better with all of this allergy stuff!! Hang in there, you are doing great!!!Well, the kids are being good, so I've decided to tell you all about my wonderful friend Leslie. Leslie and I became good friends last summer. However, we had both been in Midland for a year and had kids at the same time. We both moved to Midland from Tennessee within a month of each other and we were both pregnant. I was an awful person and didn't introduce myself, which is not normal for me, but I was too consumed with Miss Ella. She had her little boy 2 weeks after Ella was born and also has a precious 3 year old little girl that Ella just adores. We are already planning our kids to get married to each other. Anyway, Leslie is a super fun girl that I hit it off with right from the beginning, but our friendship grew so strong when Hayden was born. See, Hayden and Leslie share the same birthday!!! (Hayden's so excited Leslie!! ) During all of the ups and downs after Hayden was born and in the NICU, Leslie gave of herself 110%. She would watch Ella, she would come to the hospital and cry with me, listen to me, hug me, pray with me or just sit with me. We also had her on our list of people to visit Hayden because she in her previous life was an ICU nurse and understood things that the nurses and doctors spoke about. We of course had no clue what they were saying. I could just look at her face when the doctor would speak and know that everything was okay. She helped things stay normal for me and made me feel like that was the place she wanted to be most, with me and Hayden. She is such a wonderful, uplifting person, I hope you all get a chance to meet her. Leslie is definitely an angel and a terrific friend!! I know I can never repay her for all she has done for me!! Thank you Leslie!! I love you!!!

Sounds like you have a sweet friend Meredith. I'm glad, they are really nice to have around!!

Ella is beautiful in that first picture and such a cutie in her swimsuit. I can't believe you are going to take on potty training with a 10 week old...you are brave! Go for it! And good job Hayden on the sleeping!
