I know I don't have any pictures, but hopefully I'll have some soon. My camera started acting up so I was unable to take any myself, but I'm going to have some soon from my friends that were there. Until then, I thought I would just give an update that I survived, I can walk and debating whether or not to run a full marathon in the next few months. We will see. The further I get away from the race the more I forget the last 3 miles and how lonely they seemed. Ha! Really though, it was a beautiful day, a little chilly at the beginning of the race, 34 degrees, but it warmed up and I was actually squeezing ice cold sponges on top of my head at mile 12. I wasn't super fast, but proud of myself for completing the race in 2 hours 11 minutes an average 10 minute mile. I think I placed some where in the 2500 out of 17,900 that actually did the race.
There were some really funny things to see while out there on that road and hopefully my friends captured the moments. All in all the biggest thing I learned is, if you are in need of Christmas gifts and think your family may be in need of some sweats, go hang out at a marathon. People just throw their stuff on the ground when they get hot and it is not cheap stuff either people. Like North Face!!! If only I hadn't been racing I may have had a bag to do some shopping! Just kidding, but it really amazed me. The other big lesson I learned is, don't eat a banana immediately after stepping off the race track. Really. Your stomach won't like it! Alright, I guess I'll leave it at that and tell more about it once I get some pictures to validate my story.

Proud of you, Mere!
So proud and impresssed with you!!! Your time is now the one that Brad is using for his motivation for the half in December:)
The mental image of you running around with a garbage bag trying to grab as many warm-ups as you can is a funny one!!!!
I am so proud of you sweet friend for accomplishing your goal! Yeah!! It was so good to be with you yesterday, hope you have a wonderful weekend:-)
Nice job! Wow! I can't believe it was that cold in Texas. Of course, it's been snowing the last 5 days here!
Awesome Job! I am not sure I could ever go for a full marathon. I think the 1/2 is the perfect LONG distance.
