I also bought some oil cloth, but I am holding onto it for dear life until I can make up my mind what I want to make with it. It is not cheap and I didn't buy a whole lot, so I'm being very particular what to make. Possibly a cute bag, but we will see. I guess I do have enough to make several things, but whatever I do I can't waste it!

Catching Up
Goodness, I didn't think it would take me a monumental amount of time to update my blog, but I was waiting for some blog worthy material. I was in a rut, I admit. :) Over 2 weeks without writing, yikes! I hope you don't mind a hodgepodge of pictures and events. I'll start with the most recent of blog worthy events. Yesterday, Hayden woke up with a red spot on his ear that continued to get worse. It finally looked like this:
I got a doctors appointment to make sure that his ear wasn't about to fall off and I'm happy to say that it is a bug bite, but will be fine with Benedryl and some Hydrocortisone. It already looks better this morning. It was truely a sad site once it began to fold over because it had swollen so much. Hayden didn't seem to mind it much.
Working backwards, Tuesday night I was invited to sub for a girl in her Bunco group. We had a great time chatting away and since I was one of the subs I ended up with one of the prize candles of the evening. It is wonderful and from Wally World!! I was told it was only $5, but I recommend it over the much pricier ones. It is by Paula Dean the fabulous chef from the South. Besides the fact that it made my entire home smell delicious, it is the cutest packaging for a candle I've seen yet! You must all run out and get one. The one I have is Mystery Pecan Pie. Hurry, go, NOW!! They could be sold out soon!!
Earlier in the day I started on some ballerina skirts for Ella. Some girls and I are getting together to make these and I needed to make one up first so I could tell them how much tulle they needed. Ella loves hers so much I may have to make more because I'm sure she is going to tear it up quickly. I also need to trim the one down I made because it is a little long. I also made a black one like one that I saw at Gymboree. It was a precious skirt that they had paired with a red capped sleeve sweater for the holidays. Pictured with black tights it is a little out there to wear tulle, but I couldn't resist trying to duplicate. Ella looks precious in it, now I just need to learn how to knit so I can make the sweater.....ha, ha, just kidding, I'm not going that far.
Last of all, I got to go on a wonderful girls weekend to Canton! I had such a blast with a great group of girls. I had never gone on a girls trip since being married with kiddos and it was a nice weekend of shopping, eating and talking. I definitely feel as though I made 9 new friends that I can't wait to do more with. Fun, fun, fun!! Sorry that I don't have any pictures to post! However I did buy some neat things. I was inspired by several items that I cannot wait to make. One thing I was able to make quickly I found in Canton, but didn't want to spend the $20 on was a little chalkboard ontop of a jar. I had seen something similar on another blog, but here is my version. By the way, visit the link. It is a terrific blog and precious to boot. I copied her phrase even though she was actually referring to Pumpkin Pie, I myself am referring to my two little pumpkins in the picture. :) It only cost me $8. I need to add a bow to it.It really wasn't that much, but since I had to buy a spray can of chalkboard paint that made the price go up since a can is $6. However, I am ready to spray an entire wall with that stuff. It is so cool!!!
Well, you are all caught up for now. I will make sure that I have some other things to blog about sooner rather than later. Hope you are all enjoying the Fall weather! Oooh! I forgot, make sure to try Starbuck's, Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. I know, it sounds strange, but definitely something to try. Make sure it's just a tall though. It is quite sweet. :)

Did you go to First Monday? I've never been, but I've heard so much about it, and I don't think anything else goes on in Canton! ;) I'll definitely have to try your Starbucks drink. We have one in the hospital (bad news). I try to limit myself to when I have to work all night, but occassionally a bad day also warrants one! :) Enjoyed your music BTW...
I just love you to death! Your posts always make me smile. So glad we were able to hang out Tuesday night -- Bunco and grocery shopping -- what better way could we have spent our time!? ;) And, as always, love your creative mind! You give me new ideas with each post! ;)
Hayden's poor ear! That looks so painful. Glad he's better! I love Ella's tutu. Aren't they fun to make? I made Morgan and Mallory's for her birthday. So fun, and pretty cheap!!
I just bought a candle from wallyworld and I love it. I got the same flavor. It smells awesome.
Thanks for the candle tip my crafty friend! I am so excited about Wednesday too! It has been sad without your humor the past few days but it was fun to see you on Thursday:-) I am so glad that you went to Canton with us and that I had the pleasure of making a new wonderful friend! Blessings!
