On the Road Again

This weekend was a fun trip to Midland where Mark played for one of the most fun gigs of the year. I believe this is the 3rd year that Mark has played for the TexStar customer appreciation day and we love going. It is great because one, we get to see our friends that we miss and second the day is usually beautiful and there is great food! We love it and so do the kiddos. We came away with some beautiful farmers tans on our forearms, but other than that it was a fantastic day. You can go on Mark's page to see more pictures, but I'll include the fun ones here.

I thought I would also include some pictures from the duck in the backyard. This is the second time they have appeared and I hope that it is a frequent visit. I want to be able to take the kids out to feed them, so hopefully we can domesticate this mallards.

If you are tuning in to see how my motivation is working out, I'm still truckin' along on the treadmill. I'm 12 miles into my 100 so I still have alot to go, but I'm doing it!! Since we headed to Midland on Friday I knew that since I didn't get to run Thursday night because we had plans and we would be gone the rest of the weekend, I knew that I needed to get to the gym Friday morning. Well, Mark usually head to work at 7:45/8am and I wanted to get to the gym, run for an hour, make it back before the kids woke up and rest a little, so I got up at 5am and was at the gym by 5:15. Dumb, dumb, dumb. That was the hardest workout of my life, but you know what? I know I can do it now. I won't be making that a regular workout time, but I definitely could do it again. I made it back in time to take a shower and jump back in bed for a hour before Ella came in the room. I tried out my new download though, the one with Lance Armstrong. It was great, but the loud music had me pulling the headphones out of my ears for the last mile. I couldn't handle that stuff so early in the morning.

On Sunday, we headed back early from Midland because we had dinner thatwe needed to be at for Mark's work and I wanted to get a run in beforehand. So, we made it back at 4pm, unloaded the car, changed and I was at the gym from 4:30-5:30. I made my best 6 mile in 59 minutes, so I was on a high when I got home. I felt great and was able to take a shower get dressed and do my hair and makeup in 30 minutes. It was exhausting, but well worth it when I sat down for dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I kind of think that the workout was harder than the 5am workout because I had been sitting in a car for two hours straight and then tried to run. I was a little dead legged, but oh well, I had to do that many times in college. I will never forget traveling all the way to Nebraska in a tour bus and then had to compete later that day. My legs were jello and I'm not even sure I made it off the ground for polevault. I would have to say that was my least favorite meet of my life.

I know this is a long post, but here are some more kiddo pictures. Enjoy!! Ella playing the keyboard at my parents house. She is definitely going to have Mark's talent! Don't you just love the orange sunglasses??

Cute pictures!!! I love ducks!! And I cannot workout first thing in the morning - it's a mental thing I cannot overcome. Not that I try very hard... My random thoughts for yours... :)

Okay, so you are getting me thinking about running, but not quite there yet. When I go to the gym I do the Olyptical Machine for 99 minutes. Anyway, stay motivated, your doing great! Love the pics of the kids.

Half guitar half mandoline? Very neat. Did you say someone made it for him?

I love the pictures of the kids and glad you had a good time!

I loved all the pictures! I was thinking about yall the other day...I am running in the San Antonio marathon in November, and I noticed that it is on the Rock and Roll tour. Thought it would be cool if Mark and the boys were one of the featured bands. There is a link on my blog that you can click on (werunlikegirls) if Mark is interested in more info.

Good job on all the running! Wish we lived closer so that we could be running buddies.

These pictures are so cute! The ones of Ella playing the keyboard are hilarious! Let's hope her music is better than her Dad's! Ha, just kidding! Hey...can you email me Lariat's logo and some pictures that they might like on there. I can get it done in a day or so once I get that. Rick was supposed to relay that to Mark, but can we really ever count on those two??? Love you guys!

You are so crazy, but you have to keep the motivating talk going for after I have Sophia. I will be needing to hear it then so I can loose the baby weight!!! That is a little less than 3 months way, so if you start slacking I am going to start pumping you back up so I'll get pumped to work out.
