Snow Days

When I was growing up the idea of a snow day was definitely a nightly dream during the winter.  The idea that we would get to miss school was wonderful!  Fast forward to being an adult and the idea of a snow day is great for a day, but for four??  This week was definitely a weather event!  Ella was excited since she prays for snow almost daily on her way to school.  I was so sure that we were not going to have any this year that the week before I had told her I didn't think we would have any until next winter.  WRONG!  Ella spent the majority of the week trying to find slick spots for her to ice skate on.

Of course, since I have been recovering from surgery, I haven't spent too much time in the kitchen.  Well, Thursday I decided I needed to bake, so here was a blueberry version of the Pioneer Woman's Apricot Bars.  Yum!!!

The one thing that I did not do well at was entertaining the kids.  I really felt like I should have taken advantage of the time to have all 3 kids together, but I didn't want to overdo anything and re-injure myself so, unfortunately there was some television watching.  Macy loved to watch Ella watch tv.  Pretty cute!

Speaking of Miss Macy, she is not a happy camper if someone gets fruit snacks and she isn't given any.  Exhibit A:

How sad is this face?  Added with the multiple teeth that are trying to come in, she was not very happy with me.

That's the news from here!  I'm seeing better every day and I'm amazed how not having to take out my contacts every night really has messed up my bedtime routine.  Ha!  A friend suggested to start reading myself a book every night instead.  LOL!  Also, the back feels pretty good.  I can't complain about it too much with the exception for a few little pangs here and there, I think I'm moving forward from this experience.  I go in for a two week post surgical appointment on Wednesday so I guess I will find out if I have to have rehab or not.  I'll keep you all updated!
