~2011~

Happy New Year everyone!  I'm pretty sure my blog has probably fallen off the blog reader for many of you if not all of you since it has been since November that I last posted.  I'm not sure why today of all days popped up as a day to blog, but it just seemed appropriate as we step into this next year.  2010 was a good year.  We enjoyed our cruise last January, Hayden knocked out a tooth, 4th of July in Tennessee, Ella split open her chin, I herniated my back, Macy began to walk, Ella started school and I started my own business.  Sad to say that I'm disappointed a bit by a few of those highlights of last year because they are of 3 of us getting hurt.  Nice.

I am not making any resolutions about blogging. No promises that I will be on here 2-3 times a week updating you on my life as that had actually interrupted me from my life by blogging about it.  Also, I don't need another expectation to put on myself and then beat myself up about because I didn't stick with it.  The other truth to that is that I have gotten so busy taking pictures of other people that I have actually fallen off the boat about taking pictures of my own family.  I wish that were not the case.  That is one thing I will resolve to do, more pictures of my own kids.

As far as how we brought in the new year, Mark and I decided to go jump in a friends pool on New Year's day when it was only 30 degrees outside.  Smart!  We called it a Polar Bear swim and let me tell you, there was no swimming involved.  I think I practically jumped in and out of the water in one leap.  It was sooooooo COLD!!  Too fun for words though and we've now decided will become an annual New Year's Day event.  Yes, I was fully clothed in my under armor and running tights.  I'm may be crazy but I'm not dumb.  ;)

As for what 2011 holds for us, it seems to be starting off with a bang!  Mark and I have given each other new eyesight for Christmas and will hopefully be going under the laser in the next couple of weeks to make us official two eyes again instead of the four we've been since elementary.  I have had glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 6th, so the idea of waking up in the morning and being able to immediately see is still surreal at the moment.  I can't wait for the first morning it happens!  Also, I'm still dealing with back issues.  Still having sciatic pain and occasional numbness/tingling in my foot.  I have had a repeat MRI since it had been 8.5 months since my last one and don't ya know, the disc looks almost identical to what it did back in April.  Discouraging to say the least, but hopefully we are on track to make a decision about that.  I still need some important questions answered so if you have ever had a microdiscectomy or know someone who has, please contact me. I would love to talk to you about it!

On a final note, if any of you are interested in doing another Beth Moore online study again, I'm game!  I loved hosting it last year and would love to do it again.  I will probably do it a different way to keep people better engaged instead of me just writing my thoughts every day.  Maybe something like going down a list and splitting up the chapters for people to lead discussion on.  Not sure!  Just let me know your thoughts and I hope that we have some people interested!  Oh, and the topic.....Living Beyond Yourself, Exploring The Fruit of the Spirit.
Well, I think that catches us up for a bit.  Hope all of you had an outstanding holiday season with family and friends.  I loved every single Christmas card I got and I stop to look at all of them a couple of times a day.  May peace, love and joy surround you throughout this New Year!

Laser surgery will be the best money you've ever spent! I had mine done in June of '09, and got up from the table able to see. Two years later I'm still seeing 20/20! Your night vision will take the longest to adjust, but now I don't even notice a few light rings. It's the BEST ever. Really.

Miss talking you on Twitter!!

Hey girl. Don't worry...we all use google reader otherwise, we would have stopped checking the blog LONG ago! ;) I wouldn't have even recognized Macy because she's changed so much since the last picture I saw. Phenomenal picture, by the way. Can't wait to her about your lasik. That is definitely a gift I want to give myself once the childbearing years are over. I'm terrified, but also excited about it...one day.

Also, I'd love to do another study, but I think I am going to try and do a women's study at my house for my church group. I don't know if it will happen because there is a ladies Bible study during the day and I think about 90% of women DON'T work outside the home and could go to that if they wanted. We'll see. I just have one more anesthesia hurdle to tackle in mid April, then I'm free to really concentrate on that. I'll jump in with you if it doesn't fly, though.
