Goodbye Land Rover.....

I know what you are all thinking....The Powell's have lost their minds and are selling all of their possesions. It looks that way, but no, just Harley and the car. Eventually the house, but we have a few more projects to complete before that can happen. Actually we need a size upgrade. The Discovery has been a fantastic car, but with all the traveling we do with Mark's music, we need the room for the kids carseats AND all the music equipment. So, we placed the car in the newspaper and lo and behold, it sold last night. Amazing!! I guess we priced it just right and the right couple came along. I will miss that car, but now we have to find something that will suit us. This brings me to the question of, "When did minivans go so out of style??" I didn't grow up with one, but it seems to me that all the minivan manufacturers have decided that they need to make them super cool, with all the best features, good gas mileage, space, shapes, colors, (kind of like the pacifier), and price them very competitively. Soooooo, what I want to know, is why are we all so against them. Yes, I know that they aren't the coolest car on the block and especially being only 26, I cringe at the thought of driving one, but come on!!! They are practical!! I've tried to convince friends to help me bring minivans back, (if they were ever in??) and many of my friends admit, that yes, they are awesome vehicles, but they just aren't cool. Hmmmm. I guess even though we all are having kids right now we are afraid to admit that while we're driving down the highway. I guess because minivan screams, "we've got screaming kids in this car". Hey, the road rage from other drivers may be less focused on us because they know without a doubt that their are young kiddos in the car. We don't even need one of those, "Baby on Board" signs. Hmmmmm. Gets you thinking, huh? Well, I know that we are probably too proud to break down and get a minivan, so I guess we're like everyone else, but it is food for thought.
Just thought I would also share a picture of Miss Ella in the mornings. As soon as this girl jumps out of bed the high heels go on!! Clackty, clack around the house, I'm telling you all now, watch out corporate america, because Ella will be strutin' her stuff in her high heels and suit someday!
