While I was at the store earlier in the week I brought home two beautiful pink hydrangea that are now dressing up my front porch. I do not have to wait on them to grow, they are instant satisfaction. The only thing I have to remember is to water them.....a lot! You all know me and I had to photograph them and add a little message to it.
What a beautiful message for us all to remember. There are many days that I hop out of bed and barely have the chance to stop and look in the mirror before flying into the kitchen and starting our day. However, there are others that I stand in front of that mirror and question those wrinkles already forming on my forehead and the creases between my brows. Many of these coming from my inability to speak without being overly expressive with my face. I'm animated to say the least. Instead of thinking those lines are from the beautiful experiences I have lived and the happy times that have put them there, I think of how much older I'm beginning to look or how could I improve on what I look like. God tells us that we are beautiful, that He does not look at our outside appearance, but our inside. Our heart, our spirit, our soul. This earthly body will not be ours for eternity, but our spirit will. How I wish I spent more time reflecting on it rather that what I see in the mirror. If I did, I might see something more beautiful when I do take the time to glance at myself because His Word would be reflected more greatly in my life and my wrinkles would fade. They would be replaced with His promises, His word and His view of His creation.
