October

September 4th!!!  I can't believe it, but that was the last time I posted.  Let's see, it is October 29th and I'm just now updating.  Geez.  To be honest, I have been a pretty busy gal and because of it I have let the blog slide.  It's not that I don't want to do it anymore, it's just priorities have changed and it got put to the very end of the "to-do list".   However, today you are lucky! You get to read my wonderful ramblings!!  (yeah right, I'm pretty sure I've lost all readers, but in case I'm in your Google reader and I've shown back up here ya go) Since it is cold outside this morning, what does that mean?  I'm inspired to write!!!!  Something about the colder weather, coffee and long sleeves that makes me want to blog.  Oh, and I've actually taken pictures of my own life this past week that I can blog about.

Last weekend we had a Mom and Kid's day up at the club and you had your choice to either paint or carve a pumpkin. So we met up with our friends and got busy decorating our orange globes.  Ella picked the biggest one she could carry and Hayden picked the smallest.  Kind of funny.  I voted for painting instead of carving and so we ended up without injury.  Hooray!  Macy was not too thrilled with the experience because I resorted to strapping her in the stroller so I could help the others.  That did not last long.  Eventually Macy won and ran all over the place once released from her dreaded stroller.

Last night while watching our beloved Texas Rangers, who ended up not having such a great night and having a scoreless game, we got into the Halloween spirit.  Mark brought home a pumpkin to carve.  If you know Mark, you know that I don't trust him with sharp, pointed objects.  It never ends well.  He told me to stop with the drama when I kept wincing every time he made a stab at the gourd.  Well, it looks like I can predict the future and that I have every right to wince when he went to cutting.  Mark managed to slice open where his thumb meets his hand.  After bandaging him up and asking for an apology for calling me drama, he went back to work.  For those who know Ella just had her chin stitched up about a month ago, we decided to skip the ER and use super glue.  It worked.  I must say, Mark is tough and a very talented pumpkin carver.  I'm so thankful for him and the fun things he does for and with our kids.  He is a great Dad and I really lucky to have him!!

Sorry for the lack of quality on these pictures.  I just shot them really quick because it was cold and the kids were in their pjs.
Scary, huh??  Way to go babe!

Speaking of pictures, I guess I should share why I've been so busy.  Along with a friend of mine, we have started a photography business!  Very exciting news indeed!  It is a lot more work than I thought it would be to get a small business off the ground.  We have a lot of hopes and dreams of what it can be and what we would like it to eventually turn into, but for right now we are enjoying taking school pictures, family, babies, seniors, engagement, maternity and hopefully some weddings in the future!  We are ecstatic about what has come so far and looking forward to what Fingerprint Studios will be.  If you would like to check out our site in progress, it is hosted here on blogger until we are fancy enough to have a beautiful, personal domain named site.  It is www.fingerprintphotos.blogspot.com.  If you are in the area and interested, check us out!
