I love Thursday. It may be one of my favorite days of the week. You're more than halfway done, yet you still have the anticipation of the weekend!! This bright,
sunshiny morning was suppose to take me and my sister in law to the Farmers Market. I had this great plan after watching the great show, Take Home Chef on TLC, that I need to get in the kitchen.

So, after getting online yesterday and finding where they hold these fabulous food under a tent gatherings, I called Jackie. We had a plan. Unfortunately, so did the wind. UGH!!!! Guys! I'm so sick of this wind!!!!!!! Rain would be more pleasant than this. I have always prided myself that I didn't fight the allergy battle, yet, now that I'm here. I can count the days on one hand that I have woken up without a sinus headache. UGH. I'm done. Sorry for the rant. So, Jackie and I have rescheduled for our harvest gathering another morning when we know the fruit and veggies won't be flying off the tables and into our heads. I tried to take a picture of my trees practically fighting with each other, but that didn't work. Let's just say it looks violent in my backyard with the way they are whipping around.

Speaking of the backyard. I haven't shared the newest pictures of the wildly roaming critters. Yes, you've seen the frog, I've missed taking pictures of the rabbit and the roadrunner (he's to fast for me to get my camera), however not these next two guys.
Exhibit A: The Raccoon

This cute, furry, stripped ball of mischief is hard to detect in the picture. Stare at the picture like it is one of those 3D dotted things that after your eyes start to cross and you think you may need to be committed to some institution for staring at a picture that isn't really there, you will see the
beady little eyes looking back at you and then you finally see it. That is because it was 11:30 at night and I was not going outside to take his picture. So, I did the next best thing. Put my finger over the flash so that we didn't get an awful glare through the window. The story goes like this. We had just turned off the
TV to settle down to sleep and then there was this huge clashing and clanging right outside our bedroom door. Mark said, "He's breaking in!!!!" "Who?" "Breaking in?????!!!!" "What??!!!!", I asked. I was jumping out of the bed at this point, scared out of my mind, trying to scramble to find my glasses so I could identify this intruder
in case the cops need to know. No. Meredith. It is a raccoon. On your
back porch. Stealing dog food saved for the dumb fish in your pond. Duh. My excuse. I have none. Just
blond sometimes. So, on with the story. We flipped on the
back porch light and there is our little friend. Taking only a short break to glance at us, as if to say, "What?" , then back to grazing on our dog food. We scared it away only for him to return as soon as the light was turned off and we were back in bed. So, after removing the can on the third time, we were finally able to go to bed. Adventure.
Exhibit B: The Turkey

Thanksgiving would be
alot of fun if we could go hunting on our lot. This guy was just roaming around in the backyard this week. Friendly guy that isn't really interested in anything we have to offer. I enjoyed watching him though. I'm sure he wouldn't hang out there very long if he knew what I really wanted to do to him. Does he realize that I despise going to the grocery store with two toddlers and that if I was a good shoot, he may actually be dinner?? Not really. It is a thought though.

That's it. Thankful for Thursdays, but more thankful for the wildlife that is keeping this post interesting. Plus, I've noticed I'm a
blog etiquette rule breaker. I followed the guidelines from another blog that says not to have music automatically play when people come across your page, so if any of you actually liked my song selection or not, you still have control over if you want to hear it or not. Just scroll to the bottom. The other rule I've broken and I will more that likely, okay you can bet all your money on, is that I will still have way to long posts that
truly are uninteresting and more like a flapping of my gums if we were having a conversation in person kind of posts. Sorry. Isn't that why you guys keep coming back to read???? :) I love you all for it though. You put up with me. Big hugs to everyone!!

I read on the etiquette page that it is better to leave a lame comment than none at all. So here's my non-creative, lame comment: Gobble, Gobble!
I probably break all of the blogging rules!!
Wow, it's like you guys live out in the country!! I've always wanted to go to a Farmer's Market. It's one of those things that I'd be really nervous to do since I've never done it before, but once I did it, I'd always do it. Wow, that was a weird sentence. Hopefully you know what I mean!!
I loved your animal post! Racoons can be very annoying and they also bring friends to help out. Blog rules-I loved your music.
I really appreciate the wildlife, too. We have lots of deer and rabbits around here...no turkeys, though. And you gotta love that west Texas wind...it's like it's raining dirt. Yuck! And if my husband ever says - He's breakin in! - to me, he'll get more of a reaction than Mark did. You gotta choose your words wisely. :)
You so crack me up! I am just sitting over here laughing! I should've called you...or looked to see if lights were on! :) Anyhow, I really got a kick out of your post...thanks for the stories. Your posts are always great! Even the ones from "way back when!" :) HA! See ya soon!
