Ode to the Retail Stores

This post is yet again random, but more organized. See I promised.....or I guess you should wait until the end to make that decision. When I was thinking about this post and signing in to Blogger I had a good laugh to see one of the recently updated blogs on the Blogger homepage was titled, I LUV CVS. Now that could be someones initials, but in this case, I think they must be referring to the drug store. This post is TOTALLY dedicated to my favorite place to shop. Hobby Lobby. Oh my goodness. Where do I start? This store has got all the odds and ends that I need on a daily basis. I have always known that this store was my friend, but not until recently have I become reacquainted with this long lost love! Let me count the ways that I love this store. Besides the fact that they have cool stuff, there is something 50% off all of the time . Now my dear husband would say, "It's a gimmick Meredith." "They hype the price up, so that the half off sounds good and pulls in unsuspecting women like you." What? I don't like to think that. I must say if there is something that isn't half off one day that you so desperately need, just wait 15 minutes and a new sale sign is being put up on the shelf. Let's see, you know what else I love??? Their Christian music. Other than the fact that I have caught myself on numerous occasions singing outloud in the store in the most embarrassing fashion, where else other than a Christian book store, Mardels, or the like do you hear non offensive music and actually make you have even better thoughts about the candles that you are about to purchase......or in my case, totally debilitate my mind from making good choices and buying tons of stuff on a whim. Hey, but my mind was in a good place while I shop. (Since I was a Drug Rep in my former life I must have my fair balance comment.) Just one complaint. With all of the GREAT stuff they have, why do they give you a shopping basket the size of my daughter's toy shopping cart. I mean really, how am I suppose to go blow all my money with two kids that already take up the whole cart, not to forget the items that I'm wanting to purchase. The other day I got so desperate I debated whether or not to make Hayden walk through the store because my basket was already full, Ella was walking beside the cart and my arms were full with other random stuff that I eventually had to park on a shelf because I couldn't make up my mind. Ha, ha, ha. No, not really, but I did think about it for a split second. Then with one wailing cry and begging from Ella to go to the bathroom reality hit that it was time to leave and that I need to start therapy because no one should love a retail store this much. Don't even get me started on Target. We all know that you can't get out of there without buying something!!! Let me know your favorite place to shop!

I haven't been to Hobby Lobby since the week before Morgan was born! I was cleaning up tonight after dinner and thought, "I think it is time. I can do Hobby Lobby with both girls." I have really missed my almost weekly Hobby Lobby trips. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!! My other fave is Target, of course! I also like Walmart. I know most people can't stand it, but it literally has everything you could possibly need!

I haven't ever heard of Hobby Lobby-I wish we had one here! My favorite place to shop-yard sales.

I think this is so funny. I try to avoid Hobby Lobby because everytime I walk in the door I spent WAY too much money. Someday I hope to be able to go whenever I want and not have to worry about how much I am spending....That may never come.

Wal-mart is where I do about all of my shopping...got to love one stop shopping.

We had a blast on Wednesday. Thanks again.

I LOVE Target and Old Navy. Those are pretty much the only places I shop other than Wal-Mart. I do like H.L. and appreciate the music. What drives me NUTS is the receipts from 1920. Seriously! Could this store really update the cash registers? Or is that just the 3 stores I've been to?

I love Hobby Lobby, too! If I'm on a mission, then I'll take the kids w/ me. If I'm browsing, then I only go by myself.

I LOVE HOBBY LOBBY, maybe even as much as you do! Just can't get enough of it for all the same reasons. I don't even have kids, but once I had to get two carts to haul out all the great stuff I found (much to Brantley's dismay). I'm on their mailing list, and I get all sorts of fabulous coupons (50% off any item--just in case it's not already on sale!). I must admit, I was in the same shopping center as Hobby Lobby, and I resisted going in. This is progress. We'll see how long it lasts. =)

I thought of you last week when a Phizer rep was doing a presentation at my work. Glad to see you're doing well.

I have to agree that Hobby Lobby is one of my favorie stores! I don't think they have them up here...which makes me sad. I think it is almost like therapy for me to wander through Hobby Lobby and Target, buying way to much cute stuff! Merry
