I guess it is finally time to slow down. We've finished all of our big travels for the summer and to be honest, I'm glad. I enjoyed Tennessee and last weekend we went to New Mexico, but now we are home for awhile. Actually, I don't see any big trips in the near future. What will I have to look forward too????? Yikes!! Hurry, I'm going to have a meltdown. Nope, as soon as I say that, something will come up, I'm sure of it. The Powell household never sits still for long, whether it be moving, surgeries or babies, it always seems like were on our toes. I thought I would share some more pictures as I always do. Hayden is almost 5 months old!!! Time is a flyin'. He loves tummy time and can roll practically across the room. You definitely have to keep an eye on him!! He is also pulling his knees up under him and pushing up on his arms. I have a feeling that he's going to be like his big sister and be an early mover and shaker. Ella is officially 2 years old and I can hardly believe it. Well, maybe her attitude is showing her age. She is battling a sinus infection right now and I'm afraid she may have passed it to Hayden. He has a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I just don't want to take any risks with him especially since he had such a hard time at birth with his lungs, I don't want to put him at risk for something greater like pnemonia. He's sounding a bit hoarse when he cries and waking up with a runny nose. Geez. Ella's done with Discovery School until September so it looks like they will both have recovery time away from other kids. My recovery time on Tuesdays and Thursdays looks pretty grim since those are usually my errand and grocery shopping days. Have you ever taken a 2 year old to the grocery store??? Yikes! We need a damage control team with us when we go or handcuffs. Ha! Ella starts pulling stuff off the shelf so I have to keep the cart in the middle of the aisle which doesn't make the other people coming down the aisle very happy. Oh well. Speaking of which, this reminds me of a story I forgot to share a month or so ago. I was driving through the HEB shopping center parking lot and as I was driving down the aisle this older woman going the opposite direction from me slowed down so our windows were even and then she stared me down and gave me the finger! Can you believe it????? I was appalled. Thank goodness my children are not old enough to understand that stuff, but really! Who does that?? I have no idea why she did it. Apparently if I did something, I was oblivious to it, but come on people! Benefit of the doubt would be nice. It just angered me and I thought about chasing her down and asking why she did it, but then again my feelings were hurt and I was still in shock, so I kept driving. Every time I think about it I get mad. Anyway, that always brings me back to why people need to not have road rage. You have no idea why someone is driving slow, or fast, or cut you off, or anything. We all need patience!!!! Okay, off my soapbox, enjoy the pics!

Summer Slowdown

I hope Hayden's appt goes well. One time in recent history, I was at Target and bumped into a student of mine. She had a little 3 or 4 year boy with her. Turns out he the student's little brother. I began to say hi to the little tike and he gives me the finger! Michael nearly came unglued. It just made me realize what kind of household this student comes from and no wonder I can't get her to behave.
There is no way Hayden is almost 5 months. It seems like he was just born. He is so cute. Who do you guys say he looks like? Sometimes it is hard to tell in pics. He is so cute and big. I hope he doesn't get sick and Ella gets better.
