We took our big trip of the summer this last week to Collierville, TN. This has become a regular trip for us for the 4th, but the first time to drive with the kiddos that far. It took about 11 hours to get there and around 10 to get back. We decided to make the trip during the night so that we could avoid multiple potty stops, toys, movies, food, you name it and I was trying to avoid it. We were successful! Thank goodness that it went smoothly or I think Mark and I may have thrown the kids on Southwest and flown them home by themselves! Not really, but let's just say we're happy they slept the whole way there and back. As for Mark and I we are still recovering from the all night drives. We had a great time though once again with our favorite people, Bubba and Janet! I've included several pictures, but I didn't get any of Bubba this year. It was kind of hectic while we were there as Hayden decided to have 4 molars break through at the same time. ARGH! We spent one day at this fun little water park with sprinklers and other fun things and then the other pics are from the fireworks, which Ella hated by the way, and the last pictures are of the summer birthday people. We decided to celebrate all together. It was fun! Back to the fireworks, Ella kept her eyes shut the whole time, plus she looks like she is sweating to death in the picture. It was steamy out there, but poor Ella was afraid of either the loud booms or the brightness of the fireworks. She seemed to not really mind the boom, but she made sure not to open her eyes the whole time. Sad to me because when it comes to the 4th with the Hickmans, I'm kind of a pyromaniac. No joke! Mark and I both!! Hayden loved it and we gave him ground effects in his crocs with those glowing tube necklace things. It was hilarious. I tried to take a picture, but it didn't work. I need to post another updated picture of Hayden because I gave him his first "real" haircut yesterday and he looks like a big guy now! Moving on.....my favorite thing by far was sitting out on the backporch hanging out with great friends! Thanks again Bubba and Janet for another unbelievable and unforgettable 4th!! We love you!!!

Such a neat tradition. I can't imagine doing that with our neighbors if we ever moved away...maybe I need to get to know them better...I should probably start with their names:)
Ella is such a funny girl!
Glad to know my kiddos weren't the only ones a little scared of the fireworks!
Looks (and sounds!) like yall had fun! I am so glad the trip went well! I can't wait to see Mr. Hayden's big-boy haircut in person! Hope to see you soon!!!
Oh yeah...I still can't believe yall drove through the night! And I really think yall should've stopped in for coffee in donuts before yall hit the road to TN since...hello!!!...ALL OUR LIGHTS WERE ON AND THE GARAGE WIDE OPEN AT 1AM! I still can't believe my husband! Crazy boy!
